A Statement from Kites 4 Palestine

Dear friends, supporters, and fellow believers in a brighter future,

Today, we write to you with heavy hearts.

Kites 4 Palestine was born from a simple, profound love: to bring hope, joy, and smiles to Palestinian children wherever they are. Across Gaza, the West Bank, and diaspora communities around the world, we have witnessed the power of a single kite to lift a child's spirit, to paint the sky with color, and to remind our youngest generation that they are seen, they are loved, and they are not forgotten.

The kite has always been more than a toy. It is a symbol of resilience—crafted from scraps, strings, and found materials, it rises despite everything. It represents freedom, the unbreakable will to soar, and the pure, defiant joy of childhood against all odds. For Palestinian children, it has been their companion, their escape, and their voice.

Over the years, we have grown beyond what we ever imagined. We have partnered with organizations across the globe, reached new cities and countries, and built a community united by one belief: that every Palestinian child deserves to laugh, to play, and to dream. From Gaza to the West Bank to the farthest corners of the world, our kites have flown as symbols of solidarity, hope, and unwavering love.

That is why the recent decision to ban kites—the simplest, most innocent object of play—has shaken us to our core. To take away a child's kite is to take away their joy. To ban a symbol that carries so much meaning for so many is to ignore the humanity of the children who hold the strings.

We are deeply saddened. But we are not defeated.

We will continue to advocate, to speak out, and to work tirelessly until every Palestinian child can once again look up at the sky and see their kite dancing in the wind—free, bright, and full of hope.
